How We Plan to Grow Workday’s Workforce by More than 20 Percent

Great talent is core to our success at Workday, which is why we’re rapidly hiring for new roles across North America, Europe, and Asia. Our Co-CEOs Aneel Bhusri and Chano Fernandez share more, including our commitment to increasing representation of our Black and Latinx employees, where we'll expand office locations to open up new talent pools, and how we’re investing in recruitment programs and technologies.

当我们回顾去年,有很多reflect on—moments to be proud of, challenges overcome, and new opportunities realized—but if there’s one thing that stood out, it’s how our employees came together to support each other, our customers, and our communities. We attribute that to our strong culture, which is rooted in our decision to make employees our number one core value since day one, and continues to guide us today in building a workplace where everyone is valued, heard, inspired, and encouraged to bring their best selves to work.

As we look ahead, we see a tremendous opportunity in front of us—to partner with more organizations across industries and serve as the backbone of their digital transformation efforts so that they can adapt and grow in this changing world. And, foundational to our ability to do that will be our employees. So, as we embark on this journey and explore a new future of work, we remain more committed than ever to our core values and plan to increase our workforce by more than 20% (or 2,500+ hires) in our fiscal year 2022. In doing so, we’ll have an even stronger foundation to scale and innovate on our path to $10 billion in revenue.

To help us reach this goal, we plan to invest in and expand office locations that will help us open up new talent pools and attract some of the best minds. For instance, in North America, we’ll continue investing in our Pleasanton headquarters and increasing our workforce there, as well as growing our presence in our Atlanta, Beaverton, Ore.; Boulder, Colo.; Chicago, and Vancouver offices. In Atlanta, specifically, we plan to hire for more than 250 roles across customer support, human resources, product, and sales, helping expand our East Coast presence and boosting geographical connectedness with our European colleagues, customers, and partners. Beyond North America, we intend to increase our global headcount across Europe and Asia, which includes thecreationof 400 jobs in Dublin and new roles across our Australia, Japan, and Singapore offices.

We remain more committed than ever to our core values and plan to increase our workforce by more than 20% (or 2,500+ hires) in our fiscal year 2022.

Creating Opportunities

As we look to the future of work, we see that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not—and we are committed to closing that gap. This includes hiring and developing underrepresented talent, withgoalsto increase overall representation of Black and Latinx employees in the U.S. by 30% by calendar year 2023, and double the number of Black and Latinx leaders in the U.S. by 2023.

We are also investing in recruiting programs and technology that enable us to hire for skills. For example, we are acceleratingOpportunity Onramps® hiring and recruiting more candidates from non-traditional backgrounds, with a goal to fill 20% of our early to mid-career full-time roles by 2023. We also launched the first dedicated Career Accelerator Program in Professional Services, which enables military veterans to apply the skills and experience gained in service to become certified Workday Consultants. In addition, we have invested in a new Opportunity Onramps sales training program, which upskills underrepresented individuals to prepare them for corporate sales roles at Workday.

In addition to sourcing external talent, we’re also looking at our existing workforce to identify opportunities for internal mobility and reskilling. One way we are doing this is throughWorkday Talent Marketplace, which matches employees to short-term opportunities known as gigs, providing ways for individuals to grow their connections, capabilities, and careers at Workday. These are just some examples of programs we have in place to continue building an innovative, diverse workforce, and we’re excited to expand this momentum, helping connect more jobseekers with opportunities at Workday.

As we grow our workforce to further propel our efforts, we cannot help but reflect and be proud of all we’ve accomplished together, due in large part to the efforts of our employees. In this new world of work, we see an even greater opportunity to innovate, come back stronger out of the pandemic, and together, fuel our purpose to inspire a brighter work day for all.
