While we are pleased by this most recent recognition, it’s important to note that customer satisfaction has been our overriding goal since when we were founded in 2005. To that end, we regularly seek feedback from our customers and partner with them to incorporate thisinto our applications. In turn, the customers who have beenmost successfulwith our software often tell us:
- They can spend more time on strategy and less time on process and transactional work.
- They see rapid and ongoing return on their Workday investment by deploying new features and functionality at least once per quarter.
- They leverage rich data—only possible with a single solution to drive business outcomes by using Workday’s dashboards, and reporting and analytic capabilities.
- They enable managers to engage employees, increasing internal fill rates for open positions and decreasing employee turnover.
Let’s take a closer look at how our ability to execute is vital to the success of our HCM customers ranging from Fortune 500 companies, to medium enterprises, to government organizations:
Ensono, who spun out of parent company Acxiom last year, used the separation torevampits IT landscape. They replaced several of their previous systems with Workday to help them meet aggressive revenue growth goals. Alan Cole, vice president and controller at Ensono, said that after the successful Workday deployment his company has seen greater functionality, delivered more quickly, than their previous solution.
“We were up and running [with Workday Financial Management and Human Capital Management] in seven months, so we were quickly in production and started improving and changing processes very early in the implementation cycle,” Cole said.
In a similar significant reorganization,Abbott Labsbegan its transformation when it split into two Fortune 200 companies. At the time, Abbott’s HR leaders faced some daunting challenges. More than half of the “new” company’s workforce and business operations resided outside the U.S., with 75 percent of its growth occurring in emerging markets. HR needed greater visibility into its global workforce so it could identify skills gaps and optimize talent, both for existing and new employees. Patrick Lalor, vice president of HR at Abbott Labs, knew they had to replace their legacy HR platform—and they had to do it quickly.
“We wanted to ensure sure we had the right people and the right development programs, which meant that we had to get data, and the availability of data, off the table as an obstacle,” Lalor said. “Workday’s single platform is a huge strategic advantage in this realm. The Power of One means that we don’t have to worry about the quality of data or if that data is going to integrate with other systems.”
After working on highly customized systems for years, theCity and County of Denverwent live on Workday HCM in January, and have since significantly streamlined some of the complex processes unique to a government agency.
Executive director of HR Karen Niparko said the City and County of Denver has experienced big gains in employee efficiency: “Our former system offered limited user access and system capabilities without considerable assistance from HR. It was not a tool for managers and employees to use effectively and easily. With Workday, we provide managers and employees a much greater level of self-service and analytical tools.”
These are a few scenarios where we have delivered on what we’ve promised our customers—quick time to value, greater access to insights, and rich functionality to streamline business processes—all of which lead to a better partnership and overall customer experience.
While we are honored by our placement in this year’sGartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud HCM Suitesand other leading analyst reports, we know our work is not done. We will continue innovating in key areas like worker experience, analytics, and machine learning, and expanding our offerings to help HR become a more strategic partner to the business. There is much more to come, and we look forward to sharing more details of these exciting additions in the weeks and months ahead.
